Little P!

While I was feeling super sentimental today and longing for a good cry, I pulled out the ol' photo albums. For over an hour, I just sat there and flipped through the pages and allowed for the gut-wrenching longing for the old days to wash over me. And as I was tearing up over missed friendships, old homes, and awful fashion judgment, I finally arrived at an album that made me smile: pictures of me from my toddler- elementary days.

Turns out, Baby Paula was a MAJOR attention seeker. When I got to school, I quieted down quite a bit and became an avid reader who was content to sit alone in the reading corner with a good book, but before that?? Wow, I forgot how much I hammed it up for people! Little Paula CLEARLY wanted to be a model. Here are some of my favorite shots that I found:

Wow- check out that rad haircut. Thanks, Mom... I guess...

"I'm the baby- gotta love me!"

"What? Model? Me? Well... if you insist..."

That's the face of trouble. Still got that look down perfect.

Anyone else remember these life-size dolls? I just happened to match my cousin's perfectly!

Why, yes, that IS a giant pink bow on top of my head. This angel had STYLE!

'Cuz, ya know, most girls just sit under a tree with an antique doll, wearing a vintage dress... ?! Hahaha!

First day of first grade: workin' it, obviously.

This is the epitome of me, growing up with three brothers: TOMBOY. Soccer ball, bike helmet, stained pink dress. Perfect.

This one is probably one of my favorites, because my mother did NOT tell me to strike that pose- HAHA!

So what about all of you? Do you get nostalgic at certain times of year? Do you get emotional over old photos? Thought this would be funny to share how much has changed in a few decades... but some things, like the head tilt for the camera, never die... :)

Happy Friday, friends,

  1. I get nostalgic around fall time too! Sometimes I even get a little depressed, even though I love the season. You were such a cute little kid and definitely knew how to pose for the camera. I always just stood there and had a stupid smirk on my face. I hope everything is going well. Update us about the play and everything that's been going on. Your stalkers miss you. :/
