100 One-Hundred 100

Hello, friends- I want to say thank you for all of your support here at Life's Little Lessons. Today is my 100th post, and I am in shock that, in that few of posts, I have managed to reach 100 followers! That means so incredibly much to me that you care to read about what I have to say. I am so grateful to those who refer others to me and put my button on their page and send me just the sweetest messages.

Blogging has been an incredible change in my life, as corny as that sounds. I have always loved writing, but until I started this blog, I really didn't like sharing more than maybe a Facebook status' worth of information with people. It started with a single post introducing myself and my sweetheart friend, Jessie, sending people over to my page. Once I received a few emails just of people welcoming me and telling me how they were excited to read more, I was flattered and relieved... it felt GREAT to write about the milestones in my life and receive support from people (despite the fact that those people lived clear across the country and across the world). There is nothing better than finding a new comment on your page and people giving you incredible pieces of advice, encouragement, and love. I can't explain enough how much I appreciate all of you! In just 100 posts, I have made 100 new friends- how cool is that?!

I also want to give HUGE thank you's to those who have liked me enough to give me blog awards. Since my last post, I have received five blog awards and that just melts my heart! A major shout-out to all you lovelies:

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Most of these awards called for me to share 7 things about myself, but since I've done that before, this time I wanted to list 7 quirks about me that I don't typically like to admit to... but we're all friends here, right??

1) I absolutely cannot stand to cook with flour. If a recipe calls for flour, I either have to leave it out or find something else to cook. It sends horrible chills up my spine! :/

2) For some reason, whenever a cop drives by me, I start singing extremely loud and animated in my car. I think I feel that then if I get pulled over, I can blame my mistake on being distracted by a fabulous song.

I can ALWAYS be caught mid-song, but especially when the po-po's are around!

3) I have an almost eidetic social memory. If I meet somebody even one time, no matter how long ago it was, I can tell you their name (first and last if I know it), how I know them, usually at least three facts about them, and often times what I was doing the last time I saw them and sometimes even what I was wearing or what they were wearing. It's both a blessing and a curse, but it made me a freaking AWESOME salon receptionist!

4) When I watched the movie 127 Hours, I had absolutely no problem whatsoever watching James Franco's character slowly saw his own arm off, but the moment he took out his contacts, I nearly threw up. Blood and gore (surgery is fascinating) has never been a problem for me, but eyes?? That's another story!

Yes, even my own eyes freak me out. No contacts for me!

5) I like getting shots. And I am not talking about alcohol. We're talking needles! I like donating plasma because it's cool to be hooked up to a machine solely by a needle in your arm. And when they give you medicinal shots, I just think it's so cool to feel the medicine going into your system! Weird, I know...

6) I hate green foods!! I may have mentioned this before, but for some reason, I hate all foods green, with the exception of pickles. It's not that I hate them because they're green necessarily, I think it's just a coincidence that everything I hate happens to be green. Red and yellow apples I like, not green. Red and black grapes I love, not green. Any color Skittle is delicious, except green. You get the picture. I don't go there. No salads!

7) I am absolutely fine spending hundreds of dollars on clothes, but only order water when I'm in restaurants to keep my bill cheaper... what's up with that?! Like a $2.00 glass of soda pop is going to break the bank...?? Oh well- water's healthiest anyway. :)

"The drinks cost HOW MUCH here?!"

So again, thank you, bloggy friends, for being so kind, supportive and encouraging since I started my blog this past spring. I love doing this and I hope to keep bringing you material you like to read!

All my love,
Photobucket

  7. Some of those facts were so interesting! That would be crazy to have that good of a memory. And I have never really met someone that liked shots-I for one do not like them at all! I do like what they do though (keeping me from getting sick).

  8. Yay!! You are so amazing, P! I'm so glad you started blogging so that we were able to become such great friends!
Ok... you are a weirdo! But I still love ya ;) Gore doesn't have any effects on you?? LUCKY! I still haven't seen that movie because there's no way I'd be able to handle it. And I wish I had your memory. I'm kind of weird, I know who people are by the car they drive. Like in high school my friend's would be talking about someone and I'd have no clue who until I found out what car they drove. Then I'd make the connection! Hahaha!

  18. I wish I had your memory. One of the things that drives me crazy is that I cannot remember people. Names will always sound familiar, but I reintroduce myself time after time. Shameful!
    Congrats on the 100 followers!
