So that being said, I am considering leaving Facebook. I find that I only benefit from the photo storage anyway. Being from a town where many of its residents never leave, I run into a dozen people I know on any given trip into town... and that's plenty. I don't need to see them online every time I sign on, too.
Then I considered keeping my Facebook, but only keeping my best friends on there, but that never works (does it?). There's always a request that comes in from somebody you were friends with awhile ago and don't have the heart to deny.
So what's a girl to do? What is your Facebook situation at present? Do you think I should keep it or maintain my real-life friendships the good old-fashioned way, Facebook free? Let me know! I want to be socially prudent and would love your thoughts on how!
Many happy, oblivious years ago, when my friends were real and Facebook didn't suck.
Also, I missed my link-up with Neely and Amber at A Complete Waste of Makeup yesterday and today's topic felt a bit redundant for me, so let's pick up where I left off!
Fall Decorating
And this is why it's the most beautiful season of all! And just a last-minute plug here: I was so busy around the time I scored 50 fabulous followers, that by the time I was free again, I was almost to 70, so as soon as I hit 75 followers, there will be another giveaway! So tell your friends and stay tuned!
Have a wonderful Autumn weekend,

So! I have gone through all my "friends" and the ones I feel are not my "friends" I put on the "limited profile view" so they can't see my wall, or anything I post, just pictures. And then I go through and "hide" all the people I don't want to see!
ReplyDeleteI delete people I don't care about/talk to and still have too many friends on there. If I only left the people I am involved with in real life then there would be like 12 people left. I think about getting rid of my account too. People are just nosy and I don't have the energy to make limited view lists.
ReplyDeletei hate the new facebook changes grrr i am about ready to give up on it. i like blogger much more :-)
ReplyDeleteMy facebook just changed over last night.. it was weird that it was still the same for a while. I heard you can change it back to the old way by changing your language to UK English. I haven't tried it, but one of my friends posted that as their status.
ReplyDeletelove this girl! I hate the new fb too and was just telling michael how now I have to look at all the people I don't care for facebooks. -.-
ReplyDeletei've deleted mine before but missed the little things like the pictures, and just random chatting from here and there. But what i did was deleted everyone i don't have a personal relationship with. If i see you in public and wouldn't say hey-not gonna be fb friends! Granted i have let a few slip and have more friends than I wanted but whatever. Also, A way to not feel bad for denying people.. I just let them sit in the box :) ha!
Ughh how I despise the new FB too! I still have one just to occasionally see what's happening in the lives of old friends but right now I'm seriously considering letting it go! Can't wait to hear what you decide. Congrats on gaining followers :)
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to check out my giveaway that will be ending Monday at ashareyes.blogspot.com!
I have the same problem with Facebook, and have been slowly deleting people. But then that leaves me feeling guilty that I deleted them, even if we never were real friends or haven't talked in ages. But yeah, with the new layout I am tempted to delete mine too! I'll be curious to see what you decide to do and why!
ReplyDeleteSince I've become addicted to the blogging world facebook just doesn't really do it for me anymore. But I'll still keep it... it's another way to stay informed. Yes, I am a creepy stalker :)
ReplyDeleteI deleted almost 300 people last week and still have over 500 friends I can't seem to part with lol.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the FB problem. It is kind of weird to be able to see so many people's activity now.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I've gone through the tug-of-war with keeping an FB or not. I've decided yes, but only because I actually do use it a lot more to keep in contact with some friends. I understand there's texting and stuff too, but I can't really send videos or hilarious photos to them with my phone. I could if I had a good smartphone but that's not the point xD haha
I think you should do whatever you want with your FB account. If you're unhappy with your we-aren't-close-at-all-FB-friends, then I would delete them! No shame in that. :)
hey, you were asking me about my user name on pinterest its syoung1721 what its urs?? and also email me.. i need ur mailing address!! :)
ReplyDeleteYep I don't like the new FB either...I wish they would leave it alone.
ReplyDeleteI would keep it, just don't really use it! That's what I have done! I love all your fall inspired decor! Can't wait for you giveaway :)
ReplyDeleteNew Facebook sucks! I am trying out Google+ as I've heard it's way better and it would be quite nice to start fresh - no "friends", just the ones I actually want. I have been deleting...but I feel a little bad and then sometimes they add me again!
ReplyDeleteI'm back! And I'm so bored with facebook haha but I can't seem to just say goodbye to it :)
ReplyDeleteOk so this is what you do: You keep your facebook but have only limited access (meaning they don'[t see your wall at all) only your info and albums if you want them to) to all the so called "friends" and full access to real friends who are always come to your site and comment on your posts etc. It's like being able to have the best of both worlds. Now some may notice you blocked them and unfriend you...who cares. The truth is to many FB is a game number so they will still keep you just for a number sake...and again who cares; you already know they are not worth your time, nor your "stalking" efforts :) Blogging is good, but there is also some evil side to it. The goal is to not let your social media control your life or get to it. Sorry for the long comment. So excited you came over to my site. Happy to "meet" you friend!
ReplyDeleteI have debated about giving up facebook too! But its a good way to keep in touch with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI love love these fall decorations- if only the hubs would let me go full out FALL at our place :)
All those fall decorations are making me swoon! I can't wait to have a house of my own one day to decorate all pretty like that!
ReplyDeleteI'm deleting mine.. DO ITTT!! :)
ReplyDeletep.s. love the pics!
