An Autumn Memory

It's hump day and it definitely feels like just that: a major hump I need to overcome to make it to this weekend. Today I am linking up with Neely and Amber at A Complete Waste of Makeup for Day 3 of their fall challenge to share a Halloween memory...


If you live in Minnesota, you may remember the Halloween blizzard of 1991. On that night, there were no trick-or-treaters, no visible decorations; nothing. Everyone was snowed in inside their homes. As scary as that was, as children, my siblings and I weren't upset about all the snow; we were upset because we couldn't go trick-or-treating. Well, my mom had a solution for that! She placed a different costume in each room of the house and me and my brothers went from room to room of our house, knocking on each door and yelling "Trick or Treat!" and my mom would emerge from behind the door, in a new costume each time, and she filled our trick-or-treat bags. We got a big haul because my mom had actually bought enough for the whole neighborhood. It was amazing. Afterward, we still had Halloween-themed snacks and movies and my mom had little Halloween prizes leftover from a party that we each got to choose from. It was amazing and I will never forget or feel like I missed out that Halloween. It will always stand out as the best in my mind. :)

    love this post! I also LOVE that your mom did that. SO cute! I can't wait for Fall.. I'm not sure if I will feel any crunchy leaves here in Florida :( Although I LOVE Florida I will miss Alabama Autumn's! Also, I have clear skin too but have been looking for a little go-to for overnight care when I need it! I'll try it :)

    I'm weird, but I love stepping on leaves...just so Halloween-ey. I love Colbie :)

    And that dress by the Kardashians' is so sexy!! I want one haha.

    I'm really proud of myself! Today I found Halloween diy craft that I'm going to make! I've already bought half the supplies for it :) I'm really trying to let summer go and get excited for the holidays!

    Also. I LOVE that dress. I'm a closet Kardashian follower. They don't make a move without me knowing. Except that was a lie. Sometimes I don't know when they're moving. <--tangent.

    Today, I'm loving warm apple crisp with melting vanilla ice cream, the fact that I can sleep all snuggled under my covers with my windows cracked open, and finding new blogs to read. :)
