Good afternoon, friends! We are mid-week and plugging away... I am incredibly anxious for the weekend so that I can celebrate my anniversary with the hubby. Today, I wanted to talk about something silly, that reflects who I am and where I'm at in my life: Dr. Seuss. We grew up reading his books and memorizing his rhymes. We smiled over the silly illustrations and made-up words. And while his works were pure fancifulness at times, they truly heed some amazing life advice. Who knew?? I want to share some of my favorite lymmericks of his with all of you today:

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams."
"Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple."
"A person's a person, no matter how small."
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It's not."
"If things start happening, don't worry, don't stew, just go right along and you'll start happening too."
"Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!"
"Only you can control your future."
**And my personal favorite stanzas right now:**
"And when you're in a Slump,
you're not in for much fun.
Un-slumping yourself
is not easily done.
You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Somewindows are lighted. But mostly they're darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?
And IF you go in, should you turn left or right...
or right-and-three-quarters? Or, maybe, not quite?
Or go around back and sneak in from behind?
Simple it's not, I'm afraid you will find,
for a mind-maker-upper to make up his mind.
You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place..."

I love this particular one right now from "Oh, the Places You'll Go" because it speaks volumes about how I've been feeling lately. I feel like academically I've been playing a game of tug-of-war. Questioning: Is this what I want to do? Is this where I want to be? Will this make me happy? I feel like I did this dance ever since I moved back to Minnesota and it has finally landed me in the dreaded Slump: where I've thrown myself into The Waiting Place; waiting to see where I will be and what I will do. I have been struggling with this a lot lately and, through prayer, am slowly coming to some more solidified conclusions and decisions. I will keep you all updated on this when I know more.
So what about all of you?? Any Seuss fans out there?? Any favorite words from his books? Thought it'd be fun to bring a blast from the past into the blog today and let you all remember those good ol' days of learning about Who's and Thing's. ;)
That's all for now, but don't worry, friend. I'm done for today, but this isn't the end!
