A Taste of Who I Was... errr... Am

Hello, old friends and new followers- I'm so happy you're here! For those of you who are new that I haven't traced backward yet, feel free to leave a comment and introduce yourself- I'd love to see all your fabulous blogs too! So yesterday, my friend, Courtney over at Eric and Courtney did a fantastic post on her great home and, while I don't currently have digs that I can post about, I wanted to show you a piece of my puzzle that I hope you'll enjoy: my old place!

Before I met Scott, I lived alone as a single college girl, in my own fabulous little one-bedroom apartment. While the single life didn't last long before I packed up my bags and subletted my place to be with my honey, the time I spent in Fargo on my own was a major milestone in my life. I was so excited the day I signed the lease on that little place. I had spent the whole summer saving up my money and buying my own grown-up furniture for my own grown-up place. What made it so special was not only that it was all mine; it was also the fact that I designed the place to showcase what I feel my heart would look like if it was excavated.
Check it out!

I have always been a HUGE fan of all things vintage and all things movie star, so it was no wonder that I made 40's Hollywood Glam my theme: red, black and white made up my color palette.

Look at how incredible the building was! All original woodwork and check out that adorable little alcove where I placed my vase. So much charm and character. *Sigh!*

Yeah, that's right. Had to get a shot of the French-looking powder room. Classy.

The kitchen was awesome- just look at that sink. I wanted a bistro feel in this space, so we added the wallpaper border and carpeted (yes, carpeted) the kitchen!

Not that I cook, but how cute is that little shelf with the bow on it?! Wish I had kept it, but that kinda thing only works for a single gal...

My little homemade curtains and reupholstered chairs completed the bistro look perfectly. :)

The bedroom needed a very boudoir look to it. I think that was accomplished.

My makeup station, which of course needed vintage Vogue covers and Marilyn Monroe.

So that's it, folks! My very first place that was completely designed by yours truly. Hope you enjoyed the little tour down my Memory Lane! My next couple of places that I lived in after this took on a completely different look, but this one remains a favorite in my mind. I was fortunate enough to have an opportunity like this before having a husband to get approval through on my design choices... I was able to really showcase ME! I miss it lots, but will always fondly remember my first living space as an adult. Here's hoping that you're all having great weeks- the weekend is fast-approaching, so that should give you all a reason to smile. :)

Back again soon,
