"We grow neither better nor worse as we get old, but more like ourselves"
~May Lamberton Becker
You learn something new every day. It's true, let's face it: Every day you make some decision or experience something that could potentially stick with you forever. While you may not choose to let it, if you do, you will see that there is something to take away from every moment in your life. While there are things we may want to suppress or lessons we may not want to learn, we grow from these things. Even when it feels like they are weighing us down. There are those who want to find the good out of the bad, the bad out of the good, and the true, harsh reality of our experiences.
I'm one of those girls.
Always have been. I suppose some might say I never really stood a chance... my mother would always sit down with us and talk about consequences, rewards, and of course, lessons. She was a professional storyteller, with each and every story having some kind of moral to it. Looking back on it now, each of us has our own story. On any given day. And today as an adult, I find that I am able to recognize my own morals and share my story with others. And what better way than by a blog?!
This is me. I'm Paula, but everyone knows me as P!
I grew up in a small town, in a small house, with a small group of friends. I wouldn't say I was average by any means, but exceptional would be a stretch. I got good grades and became extremely active in the theatre scene, causing me to gain attention I was never sure I actually wanted. I graduated in 2007 and spent the next few years hopping from university to university, in hopes of finding myself, my passion, and a direction for my life. Along the way, I found love and got married this past August to a wonderful man who fully supports me... and my shoe addiction. ;) Today, I am on hiatus from my schooling and have been dedicating my time to work (I manage a hair salon in Woodbury, Minnesota) and figuring out life.
Meet the hubby, Scott:
... But there will be plenty more on him and my family later!
I am about to embark on some major changes in my life and would like to invite anyone and everyone to follow me along on the journey. Despite my youth, I have gained lots of experience and insight on life's roller coaster and have started this blog to document my continued growth. I want to take you all step-by-step into a behind-the-scenes look of what it takes to find happiness in this crazy thing called life! I will be blogging again soon for those interested to tell you about the heart and soul of this blog and why I'm here. If there are any other soul-searchers out there who would care to follow along, I'm happy to meet you and would love to learn more about all of you! For starters, leave a comment with one of your favorite pieces of advice. Stop back soon to hear more on a day in the life of a lost Minnesotan!
Ta for now!
P!
Tip of the Day:
